There’s roughly 8,000 bottles of the 2013 Vin de France Cinso, and it’s an elegant, medium-bodied effort that has an almost Pinot Noir like sensibility to it delicate raspberry, strawberry and floral scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, seamless and forward, it’s a beautiful wine that’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years. This gains depth and length with time in the glass, and is downright pretty.

« Bright, young, vibrant red wine. Reminiscent of a high quality red wine from the beaujolais regoin. Has cherry-like flavor mixed with a robust Gamay-like wine. Wondefull and ready to enjoy now. »

« Marked by subtle spice and earth shadings, plus a dash of cracked pepper, the 2017 IGP Cotes du Brian La Cinso is 100% Cinsault. It’s ripe and dark-fruited, full-bodied and supple, with perhaps a hint of warmth on the finish. »

« If you are a Burgundy fiend then the names Gros and also Tollot will ring alarm bells.  Anne Gros and Tollot-Beaut are two of the most respected wineries in the region so it is, perhaps, rather baffling that these names are making wine down in the Minervois region of the Languedoc.  I have long been a fan of these quirky, robust wines and yet I have not seen La CinsO before and Rebecca insisted that I tasted it and, boy, was she right!  Coming from a single hectare block of 50-year-old Cinsault, which is planted on sandstone and marl, this terrific red wine has all of the swagger and savagery of a truly muscular Minervois red but this wild exuberance has been polished by two people who venerate the majestic Pinot Noir variety, so you can imagine the velvety texture and otherworldly gloss of this sensational creation.  It is a magnificently upholstered Minervois wild man and it is stunning and drinking right now.  It also comes from ‘Brian’s Hillside’ so forget the fact that it tastes incredible for a moment and if you know anyone called Brian, then this is a must, too! »

Côtes du Brian
« Medium to deep ruby red colour with a flash of youthful purple. Youthful and floral nose offering rose petal, raspberry, plum and pain d´épices notes. Nice palate, good substance and ripeness with a rounded texture, polished tannin and attractive red fruit backed up by a good notion of freshness. Polished and long finish, nice drinkability in a Burgundian style. »
