The 50/50 : a true table wine
|
This cuvee is born of the blending of 3 cepages to form a table wsine, a real one !!! Our young 30 year old Cargignans and our 40 year old Cinsaults joined a nice cudee of young 18 year old Grenaches. Having matured in stainless steel tanks, this wine is delicate, fruity and tense. Its vocation is to be refreshing and fresh, glass after glass... during a meal. |

Accords mets & vin :It underlines everything and yet takes second place with cold meats, tapas, red meat grilled or in sauces. Decanter Mai 2010: Burgundian couple Anne Gros et Jean Paul Tollot who work for separate family estates, wanted to do a joint project, so they looked in the Midi and found superb old Carignan vines in Minervois. This as lovely spice with fresh peppery fruit and a fresh finish. There is southern warmth while retaining essential elegance. One for the barbecue. *** 16/20 Jancis Robinson septembre 2010 : There is a 50/50, an unoaked cocktail of fruit and acidity that reminded me of nothing than a young Bourgogne Rouge. 15.5/20 Guide Parker 2011: 90/100 - The combination of textural refinement;palpable extract yet levity; sheer juicy exuberance;and persistent, dynamic interplay of stone, salt, bittersweet nut oils, and dark berry fruit render Gros and Tollot's 2008 La 50/50 a fine value apt to prove highly versatile over the next several years. Its slight aura of distilled fruit esters is an theme on which the youthful 2010 raw materials consistently pick up. Neal Martin - Wine Advocate: 86/100 The 50/50 has a fresh peppery nose with ample black fruit laced with liquorices, the palate is medium-bodied with a dry entry, firm tannins, perhaps just lacking a little flesh towards the finish. This is a Minnervois that would definitely be enhanced with cuisine. Tasted January 2011. |
