Echezeaux

This vineyard joins us in 2007 and it is 0 Ha 76 placed in the lieu ditLoachausses.

It is coming by heritage from my father François and was rent to the Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur for 25 years.

The age is 19 years old. It was pruned in Royat style until last year when I decided to follow his evolution with Guyot style, better adapted to the situation.

I began to row and eliminate weed killers. A true happiness to work the land still alive with a beautiful brown soil with little rocks and even some small fossils!!!

The vineyard reacted very soon with an extremely early maturation. Perhaps the more in advance terroir of the Domaine...

This first vinification shows a delicate structure with marvellous silky tannins, velvet fruit with a touch of spices...

Petits échos du millésime 2015 :

Drink Date 2020 - 2040

The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru, which comes from the lieu-dit of Les Loachausses, has a very expressive bouquet with vibrant red and black fruit, overtly classic in style, perhaps more reserved than previous vintages that I have tasted, yet conveying the terroir in convincing fashion. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, cedar, touches of white pepper with fine structure and tension all the way through to the finish. It needed time to open so I would afford this 3-4 years in bottle.
