The 2006’s vintage is a result of different conditions with a very long winter, cold and snowy, and a very hot june and july. The picking time could have been in advance... But august was more fresh and humid and I suspected to have stopped the pulverisation and the row too soon at the end of july... Without regrets, with the arrival of a wonderful september, sunny, warm and dry. These conditions stopped the rot and I decided to harvest the 20 th of september. High degrees were unexpected especially for burgundy’s wines. Warm conditions for picking, higher than 2003’s. Some easy and hot vinifications. Wonderful results for the 2 whites. Hautes Cotes de Nuits Red is sumptuous. Burgundy Red is nervous, delicate and full of fruit. Chambolle Musigny is with a lot of red berries, floral aromas, long and soft. Vosne Romanée is easier than usual, harmonious and alive with minerality. Clos Vougeot is more deep, from the earth, full bodied. Richebourg is simply silky, long and complete, impressive with so easy softness. It is really a charming and elegant vintage, a true happiness for a winemaker after the magnificent 2005’s in tension.
